Planting seeds in Earth day!

Happy Earth day to everyone around the world! We chose to celebrate this day by planting our favorite fruit in the playhouse garden. We used lots of team work and instruction first! Then
6-8 Strawberry seeds
A small planters pot (to fit the Arden area) x’s 2
Dirt pods with soil
Water pitchers
5 tablespoons of water
Placed in the sun ….
Which was a necessary instruction otherwise the kiddies await for spontaneous growth :):)

Happy Earth Day xo ~V & K

A splash of sun and joy for this cloudy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! As the clouds have rolled in to make today a dark, rainy day we’re still feeling bright about our Sunday fun with friends. It was a perfectly bright and sunny day filled with friends, photographs, playtime, reading and a Carousel!!
This perfect place full of outdoor fun is the Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo, (Brooklyn) NY. We chose this perfect location for our Twindollicious photo shoot because it was perfect combination of fun, beauty and excitement for the children. Our spring/summer collection shoot was worked by photographer Brett Martelli of and his wonderful crew; along with beautiful models Ligaya Murray, Majesti, Ava Belen, y’Naraly, Jayla Skye, Kennedy and Vittoria D’Anna; all for our feature in City Kids Magazine, issue 5.
The girls began on the historic cobble stone streets of dumbo, moving onto the lawn to read and share Twindollicious stories, leaving the finale shot to Janes Carousel. We can’t wait to see the full shots in the Summer release of BCK City Kids Magazine.

Thought to text Tuesday at PS 48

When I started thought to text Tuesday, it was to share my idea of self publishing and collaborating successfully with other artists.  Within the past two weeks we have visited schools and children’s organizations to share our story.  The outcome of these visits are always spectacular!  The children were so interested in creating their own stories, beginning art projects and working together that the coordinators and teachers assigned them to create their own stories using my suggested first two steps in creating a story book.

We used a template ( soon to be added as a free download on the website ) which included the cover page for illustration and the first two important pages of a book: introduction and setting.

Each additional page included a large area for thumbnails or illlustration along with an area for adding their thoughts to text .  The quick and simple layout helped the children begin their books.  Many of them had great book ideas already and were excited for this assignment.  This event covered many areas of our goal to encourage, embrace, teaching and friendship.   And though this youthful group may have just been introduced to book creating a long lasting impressionn may open their hearts to becoming artists.

The children continued their stories after our visit, and sent over these beautiful messages regrding our book reading events. Image Image
