NYC weekend weather teaser in Style

We’re still waiting for spring to officially arrive here in NYC, but somehow she gave us a peek over the weekend.

Yes it’s April and we’ve passed through spring break so shouldn’t we be well on our way to a forecast view of 60’s and above. Nope, not this year!

We had a little break in the weather and experienced a 77 degrees high Saturday, over the weekend, which was perfect for our agenda. V, K and I were invited to an early Mother’s Day event hosted by Hey Mama and Michele Watch . We were able to preview the amazing new styles of watches and interchangeable bands, perfectly designed for the special mothers in our lives.

K had her eye on one particular style and I’m hoping she shares her thoughts with daddy. Isn’t it great to have little fashionistas with such style, by your side… if you’re lucky in that department we’d love to see in the comments below :)) ⬇️

We would also love to invite your mini to the TwinDollicious and The Fashion class party… we’re we’ll be making awesome backpacks!

Fashion Party / Design contest

V & K both enjoyed the stroll to BobO restaurant located on 10th street – downtown NYC; while sun gazing, chatting. We enjoyed brunch with friends and made new ones…. and couldn’t resist the cotton candy treats and flower wall.

Peter rabbit has opened up a world of possibilities for the kiddos

Over the weekend the kiddos and I had the opportunity to see the Sony Pictures Peter Rabbit film, coming to theaters February 9th. James Corden played the beloved Peter Rabbit. Yes the sweet little bunny with the adorable velvet jacket that mean ol Mr McGregor always bothered. He did an awesome job and added a bit of spunk to that innocent furry bunny.

Original Peter Rabbit from 1902 storybooks by Beatrix potter

Growing up, reading the stories of Peter Rabbit I always felt pity for little guy. But, this film brought his character to life indeed. He had a the innocent sweet side that I expected but he also had a brave way about him which got him into trouble. So, maybe Mr McGregor wasn’t as horrible.. he was bad buuuut, let’s say lessons were learned.

And my little kiddos who have been asking for a pet just may have opened up the door to the possibility of gaining a bunny over a cat or dog. Thanks to Peter Rabbit and his siblings!

Get in the holiday spirit with us!

The holiday season would not be awesome without adding a bit of Twindollicious adventure.

We have rounded up some fun things that we have been doing throughout the season. The top five listed below have put us in the groove of Christmas and excitement for a new year (and Birthdays!!)

If you’re in need of a little spirit lifting and fun with the kiddos check out some of these fun at home and quick outings that will help you Deck the halls with jolly!

1. NYC is filled with fun pop up shops created by amazing marketing companies and brands. We enjoyed the hallmark pop up so much. Hallmark is the mother of all holiday movies and we were excited to swing in the spirit for these photo opps.

2. Because V & K enjoy cooking in the kitchen so much we had to include backing gingerbread cookies on our list. We enjoyed the awesome recipes of Red Velvet NYC to create some delicious gingerbread men. They were so delicious while baking in their kitchen that we did it again at home; and so can you!

3. Take a trip to a Christmas tree farm just to experience the smell of fresh pine, get lost in a maze of Christmas tree and look for signs of a possible Santa’s workshop. We enjoyed visiting the biggest Christmas tree farm in Philipsburg NJ. We love bringing home a fresh tree to decorate. As many others enjoy faux trees which is just as beautiful; there’s something about this experience that gets better every year.

4. If you’re all set up with Christmas decorations, holiday lights and you haven’t written your littlest letter to Santa yet, please do use Santa writes back. Your child would be delighted to receive that special letter from Santa in response to their wishes list.

5. To keep the spirit of Santa and the belief in this holiday alive we took a trip on the polar express to visit Santa himself.

6. We love taking time out to read holiday stories. There’s something about a holiday movie or story book that brings the holiday to life. We would love for everyone to always believe in Santa and the spirit of what it means to be good and do good; so our Christmas book “Santas helpers save Christmas” is available now Here

Twins in the kitchen prepping more than Food

Is it ever too early to ask your children what would you like to be in the future? Well,  how about NO the answer is no and in fact it is probably the best thing to begin asking them as early as 4 years old,  While you’re at it take lots of notes and begin researching as soon as your kiddo responds with an answer.  V & K have been consistent with their future plans…maybe a tinker change here or there but clearly their futures will include a business owned together and some form of beauty and entertainment to help people feel beautiful.  This is why when given the opportunity to experience a kids chef for the day at the ICE Culinary education center, in collaboration with the NYS 529 Education planning professionals we had to attend.

That is a double dosage Twindollicious style load of information along with experiences to get a jump start on making those future goals closer to reality.

Did you know that when parents of multiples begin the application process for their children their finances are automatically viewed as cut in half which allows for qualification to assistance if needed?

Also did you ever wonder how much debt USA is in student loans? Over 1 trillion dollars.  I’ll say that a perfect way to lower this deficit is by starting a 529 plan. How about contacting a representative to guide you through the easy 1,2,3 step process.

We were so over joyed with all of the positive information that each child now has a NYS 529 plan that can be used for College (Universities) or any Professional school; such as culinary school….which by the looks of V & K’s experience will be here before we know it.

Annual twins fest extravaganza!

Another year of fun and we can’t believe that it’s already over! Twinsfest that is!

V & K truly enjoyed their time at twins fest this year; so much so they wished it would never end. We packed up our whole family including grandma for this adventure… through rain, across the mountains to Twinsburg, Ohio, where we rekindled with friends from as far as Australia to our home town of NY.

“TwinDollicious summer camp here we come” made it to our warehouse just in time to share the new story with all of our friends.  They have been waiting for this sibling loved series and the next chapter of V & K’s adventures; and we were ecstatic to Share!

There are always amazing and interesting people attending the fest and this year Siamese twin brothers aged 65 attended for the first time. Though the brothers live pretty close by it was their first year attending.. They were happy to be there and happily took photos with other sets of multiples. Brothers Ronnie and Donnie are in the Guinness book of world record as of two years ago. They worked in the circus up until 1991 when schools would not allow them to attend.  I’m pretty sure that all of the twins welcomed them to their happy place and made them feel at home so much so that they will make this an annual tradition for themselves as well.

Our little mascot enjoyed every bit of his first year at Twinsfest as well.  He found a comfortable seat in the game day walk about while numerous chauffeurs towed him around and enjoyed their own test runs during the annual parade.

Twins Creative Corner

Art matters!! Don’t we all agree!?

V & K usually spend their days after school with extra curricular activities as many other fortunate children do, but it’s those moments when they find tools and objects around the house to express their creativity that I adore.

Yes, twins enjoy individual things but don’t forget there are many things to enjoy together. We are all born creative beings. Some of us are able to express it at an early age while others need to explore themselves and find their creative purpose.

Let’s continue to share our creative commonalities while encouraging each other on the sidelines during our individual time to shine.

– sharing “she persisted” a level of reading appropriate for beginning mini entrepreneurs, along with a sneak peek  moment of Book 3 of the TwinDollicious stories …..below

Mommy not referee

When you become a mom you prepare yourself for the job of wearing multiples hats but referee is one that you probably don’t want to wear.

Sure we have our days but when you’re bonded with sibling love they will naturally find themselves in a better stance …. yet always side by side.
