Summer weekend travels

Slow down summer!  Though it has been 3 plus weeks since school ended, just the thought of packing away our summer styles and prepping for the cold scares the hee bee gee bees out of me.

We’ve been taking it as slow as we can between summer camp and our weekend getaways we are soaking up all of the sun we can to fulfill our vitamin D needs.

With 3 kids in tow we planned to visit some historical sites within driving distance. An 8-10 hour drive may sound like much but we’ve survived 16; now that’s serious. We chose Saratoga/Lake George as our first weekend getaway. We usually visit Martha’sVineyard  but decided to go with a group of our family members and learn about upstate NY. The kids couldn’t get enough of the horses at Bennington Farms, Martha’s Creme for ice cream, Congress park’s Carousel, of course the lake and did I mention the ice cream 🍦.

As if that adventure wasnt enough we were brave enough to do it again….and many more times to come of course. But, traveling down south to VA to visit family was both nostalgic and educational once again.

We stopped at chincoteague beach where the wild horses run and the famous story of misty originated.  The kiddies enjoyed one beautiful horse after another with an added touch of beach of course. We enjoyed our stay at a quaint Refuge Inn…. super kid friendly; just what we like!

Summer Days

Summer days are meant to be spent at one of the best places on earth… the beach.

We love going to the beach to

-collect seashells

– talk about mermaid landing rocks

– build Sand castles

– read books

We hope your Independence Day festivities include some time by the sea

What are some of the things that you like to do on the beach?

Let’s talk about Spring

It’s officially Spring and the sun came along with it!

We’re ready for all of the spring colors and flowers that are in season for kids fashion & styles. V & K cannot wait to wear the new patchy tutus that come in their favorite color pink and of course that special staple color black.  These tutus were hand designed by them and have worked their way into the next adventures of TwinDolliciius sisters Violet and Kelly’s wardrobe. You’ll be able to read about their next adventure ” Summer camp here we come” this fall…. but for NOW let’s enjoy some of our favorite Spring Fashion Inspiration .

Art, Fashion, Friends and Fun

We truly enjoy meeting new friends! social media and here on the blog have made it even more fun to meet great people.  We recently teamed up with other creatives to do a workshop in NYC at an Argotea location.

First, we recommend you taking a stop in for their delicious baked goods and TEA if there’s one in your neighborhood.

Now, when our friend Sonia of mixed up clothing co (based in LA) http://www.mixedupclothing.com planned a trip to NY to collaborate with friends we were honored to be apart of it. Within one circle of friends others were created.

Shalom Israel Diggs of Alpha key http://www.wordartbyshalomisrael.com and TwinDollicious are now in the works to bring you a fun day in February that we’d love for you to join in on….. You can send an email reservation to Email : (subject line reserve my spot for ?_ children)

Here area few images of what Alpha key is all about and details on their up and coming event in collaboration with Care Bears.

The truth about Fall

New York’s Falls are starting to look soooo good! The crisp smell of a cool breeze, with the mix of sun has kept our TwinDollicious crew outdoors to enjoy all of the Halloween/Fall activities.

We’ve ventured to 3 pumpkin patches and apple orchards so far and plan to keep going throughout the month.  Why not… They make for the best photos.

We chose these 3 stops because of their locations and ammenities of fun.

Our First visit was to Battle Orchids (91 Wemrock Rd, Freehold NJ) which is a favorite repeat of ours.

The Second visit was to Easton PA, Raub Farms https://maps.google.com/maps?client=safari&channel=iphone_bm&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&gl=us&entry=s&sa=X&ftid=0x89c469570d3e9781:0x17489cbfa8172602&gmm=CgIgAQ%3D%3D. Which has the most amazing art maze. Every year a local artist creates a new design within the Corn maze and this years theme was farm scene treasure hunt.

Our third pumpkin patch adventure took place in Hillsdale NJ; Demarest Farms: 244 Werimus Road. Where a playground stood by the main entrance for the kiddies to enjoy before buying fresh farm picked and baked pies in the market.

The truth is that Halloween isn’t here yet and there’s so much more to do…like NYC’s Lincoln Center Halloween event… Which we will be sharing here, along with costume favorites!

****what will you be this Halloween?

Fall has become one our most anticipated times of the year 🎃🎃

Spending Our Summer With The Wellie Wishers

Wellie Wishers!! The new book series and dolls by the American Girl brand could not have come at a better time.  It’s officially the count down to the last days of the school year and those wonderful 5 -7 year old girls would appreciate an introduction to a bit of adventure from the garden stories along with a new best friend to dress up.

After meeting Valerie Tripp – the wonderful author of the books, I knew that even I would enjoy a trip down the American girl memory lane; with this new series of friends and so I began reading to the Twins as soon as they arrived home from school.

I made a brave mom of twins choice and surprised both V & K with the Ashlyn doll because of her love for dance and fun (personality to suite the girls) and received smiles and kisses of approval.  The girls immediately began to play based on Ashlyn’s personality and interest which included a perfectly fitting tiara and tutu.

Thanks to the new Wellie Wisher friends we will be spending lots of summer days enjoying pretend play with Ashlyn and cannot wait to include her other friends Willa, Camille, Emerson and Kendall!
