Balancing it all on Spring Break

We had a balancing act of a Spring break.

Did you know that Spring break is one of the most traveled breaks in the USA? Most all levels of schools are off at the same time including graduate level. There are also many states that share the same time for break to observe the Easter, Passover and holiday crossing paths.

We ventured off to our home away from home during the break to enjoy some fun in the sun. We enjoy any excuse to visit beautiful Florida and the April weather was amazing; especially after being bombarded by snow storm after snow storm in NYC. Seriously Mother Nature- let’s get it together “It’s SPRING!”

We visited 2 of the many places that we blogged about prior to our trip and even made an excursion to a new favorite place; the Brevard Zoo– where we discovered that Dinosaurs are still alive and living amongst us in Florida!

I am convinced that V & K are planning a trip to London to attend school with Harry Potter after their evening at Universal Studios in Harry Potter’s corner of the world. If you haven’t visited yet, you must…….just for the Butter Beer alone… in my opinion.

April 1st happened to be Easter Sunday this year, which was quite a treat for V & K. They renamed the entire day Easter fools day and continuously played tricks on us, some including hiding our cell phones for approximately 10 minutes until we figured out that they were hidden.

Our Easter Sunday included a fun egg hunt at an Orlando resort followed by a perfect day of sun at LEGO Land!

We managed to visit some of our favorite beaches and places for work and play during this trip.

Balance during vacation is possible!

There’s something about our family that doesn’t fully turn off even during vacation. Work is fun for us; it’s a lifestyle. So, we continued down south to Palm Beach. Here is where my husband finds his time to do his morning work routine, and visit properties.

My mom balance however isn’t as easy; but I’m sure many of you can relate. However I do find a way to balance my writing and staying connected while the kiddos are by the pool, at the beach at times simultaneously while Bash is napping.

During this trip I actually connected with a fellow hey mama at Luxury Garage Sale in Miami, and scored an awesome top at the same time.

Every time we find ourselves in the city of Miami we make time to lounge poolside with an adult beverage which happens close to never during our daily routines… at times it’s as if two ships are passing each other by. When we are in need of a anchor we regroup with time away; it’s how we strive in this lifestyle that we’ve created.

During our Spring break vacation we took a minute to look around and discover that 12 years prior to having children we dreamed of including these little people to the late night beach runs, sunsets, dancing, music, adventure and fun.

We learn from our experiences and remain focused to enjoy life!

We escaped the bomb cyclone during the holidays

Every year during the holidays we try to take a vacation to celebrate V & K and Kenny’s Birthday.

We must have felt the chill in the air because we escaped to our favorite place just in time to escape the BOMB CYCLONE.

It has been 8 years since I have flown, yes 8… we have been cruising and driving since the twins were born. It was a bit nerve wrecking to travel on a plane during winter break with a little one. The girls were so excited to travel via airplane rather than sitting in the car state to state. I have to say I can remember the excitement I had for my first plane ride. They were so well behaved – all 3! The girls were interested in their books and movies while Bash slept during the flight coming and going.

Here’s a TIP: We semi carefully chose the flight time to Florida to coincide with Bash’s morning naps… (score!) this really does work if your child is consistent with napping.

We visited some of our favorite places and people while on this trip. It’s always great to see family that you don’t usually get to see during the holidays.

Quality time with each other as well as being present in the moment makes lasting memories.

The temperatures were not as warm as we would have liked during our last few days but it was much appreciated. Our NYC life was in a cold mess of a cyclone. We continued to receive updates and check on our home during those days. The snow looked beautiful at first fall but when temps are that low, things can become scary. As we thought about returning home we decided to leave a little behind in our place in Palm beach… could this be a sign of us truly thinking of staying longer and longer each trip?!

Our excursions around the state of Florida are always fun! We try to get to the beaches and visit our regular breakfast, lunch, and dinner places as well as book stores. We enjoyed the comfort of Mazda  6 Grand Touring to get around during this trip. We were all able to fit comfortably and trunk space was unlike any other vehicle. The trunk space and safety features are amazing. With 3 children safety is very important when driving. Luxury, comfort, safety and style!

*Safety and Security Highlights: – Engine immobilizer anti-theft system – Foldaway brake pedal assembly – LATCH child seat safety tethers – Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) – Available Smart Brake Support (SBS) with Collision Warning** – Available Smart City Brake Support (SCBS)* – Rain-sensing windshield wipers*

What more can you ask for in a vehicle….oh and excellent on gas!

We returned to NYC with a smooth flight over the clouds and through the winds.

Thankfully everyone and everything survived and we were happy to return to our beautiful city!

Transitioning from Summer to Fall

Are you in the middle of transitioning from summer to fall EVERYTHING?!

We are just getting in the groove of schedules, routine and fall fashion; and Thanks to the summer sun for hanging around… it’s happening slowly.

We spent some time in Palm beach Just before hurricane Irma hit Florida and the Caribbean.  We are so happy to hear that damage was minimal to our home away from home but saddened to see the results of the natural disaster on other beautiful places that others call home.

There’s always clear skies at the end of the rainbow and road maps to bring everything back together.

As we wind down into Fall mode we’d like to wish everyone a speedy recovery with 3 practices of motivation.

1. Starting over can bring new opportunities

2. A Fresh start keeps our eyes wide open

3. A team that builds together grows together
