Hello October! Summer ‘19 may be gone but the memories are forever

Summer 2019 is officially over and we’re saying hello to Fall!

Just this week we hit a 90 degree day which had the beach written all over it. Instead of hitting the ocean we chose to get in the feeling of fall and head to a farm in New Jersey for apple picking.

We love the actual shop of Battle view orchards in freehold, NJ. So, it was only fitting to collect as many apples as possible (20 to be exact) then head over to the shop to purchase, pies, apple donuts, apple cider, AND candy apple kits once done in the fields.

With Halloween approaching we plan to head back to one of our favorite farm locations. Maple Leaf 🍁 Farm in Manalapan, NJ or Salem NY Harvest Moon Orchard and Wilkins Fruit & Fir Farm. It’s such a privilege to live in a state that has Farming options for fresh fruit and veggies so close by from upstate New York to our neighbors in New Jersey.

Let us know where you’ll be heading during the harvest season? Pumpkins 🎃 or 🍎 Apples or both?

We’re sending Summer off with so much love!

There was less travel to far away destinations but so much love and adventure captured in our CTH (close to home) stay cation destinations.

We’re listing them below and starting with the brand new Lego Land in Goshen, NY

Summer 2020 is going to be “awesome” if you’re a lego fan living close to NY or ready to travel to this new location. It is beyond adventure in the theme park there will also be a resort filled with awesomeness.. I mean is there anything better to look forward to?! Get your passes NOW

Halloween festivities

Shout it out loud! Halloween season is here!  Who doesn’t love all of the possible festivities surrounded around Halloween?  Whether you are into spooky adventures with headless horseman and hayrides through cornfields or heading to the public farms for picking harvest and pies we’re all in this together!

This year we enjoyed harvest picking at langhourne farms and battle orchards. This is the last weekend to attend the walk of Jacko Lanterns in Westbury… So hurry in!

For a chance to wear our fun costumes we will be attending great Halloween parties.  One is A public event hosted by event planner Mialandy.  It’s open to the public at the price of $5 and located at the Z hotel in LIC NY (head over to their site for additional tkt info)

We are excited to announce that we will be at the Hester Street fair in Lower Manhattan on Halloween…crafting up some fun with our TwinDollicious tutus! It’s a free entry event and with every purchase of a tutu your design it yourself embellishments are free.

V&K cannot wait to dress up in their disgust and Joy costumes based on Disneys Inside out! We will be shrub photos here…

Harvesting Fall Events with cotton candy

It may be fall with a slight crisp in the air but all seasons are made for festivals, fun, friends and cotton candy….especially the cotton candy; The year round treat

The TwinDollicious team was honored to be apart of a celebration for artists while bringing awareness to the Cerebral Palsy foundation. The mobile Pop up shop found a cozy spot on the grounds of Flagship by the Staten Island ferry (FYI: stay tuned or all of the future projects and Events happening in that NY area) .

The Harvest Festival was all things festivals are made of, yummy food, family, friends, and exclusive one of a kind products that become keepsakes because it reminds you of that time you went to a festival during the fall harvest season and met awesome people including the artist that designed something that you fell in love with.

Hope you’re all enjoying your harvest time.

Apple and pumpkin picking season is here!

Falling in love with fall

How many families are planning to go pumpkin and harvest picking this weekend? For the past 4 years we have made this season almost as good as Christmas! This year we visited Battlefield Orchards and hay ride by the associated farm for some fall and Halloween fun. We sang monster mash while riding around on hay stacks, pretending that we were on a magical tractor (like the magic school bus). The girls attempted to pick up the biggest pumpkin in the patch, while striving to pull each other around the farm… Typical TwinDollicious sister style. Good thing our Freshly picked moccasins were in tow. At 67 degrees in New Jersey East coast weather a shawl, comfy butter soft leggings by TwinDollicious and the perfect pair of Walnut color Freshly picked moccs to blend in the harvesting style made our yearly Fall tradition sooo much fun! Comment below and share your pumpkin picking photos or plans, we’d love to hear from you. :):) or visit us on social media for details on our fun moccasin giveaway!
