Hello October! Summer ‘19 may be gone but the memories are forever

Summer 2019 is officially over and we’re saying hello to Fall!

Just this week we hit a 90 degree day which had the beach written all over it. Instead of hitting the ocean we chose to get in the feeling of fall and head to a farm in New Jersey for apple picking.

We love the actual shop of Battle view orchards in freehold, NJ. So, it was only fitting to collect as many apples as possible (20 to be exact) then head over to the shop to purchase, pies, apple donuts, apple cider, AND candy apple kits once done in the fields.

With Halloween approaching we plan to head back to one of our favorite farm locations. Maple Leaf 🍁 Farm in Manalapan, NJ or Salem NY Harvest Moon Orchard and Wilkins Fruit & Fir Farm. It’s such a privilege to live in a state that has Farming options for fresh fruit and veggies so close by from upstate New York to our neighbors in New Jersey.

Let us know where you’ll be heading during the harvest season? Pumpkins 🎃 or 🍎 Apples or both?

We’re sending Summer off with so much love!

There was less travel to far away destinations but so much love and adventure captured in our CTH (close to home) stay cation destinations.

We’re listing them below and starting with the brand new Lego Land in Goshen, NY

Summer 2020 is going to be “awesome” if you’re a lego fan living close to NY or ready to travel to this new location. It is beyond adventure in the theme park there will also be a resort filled with awesomeness.. I mean is there anything better to look forward to?! Get your passes NOW

Can we repeat Halloween đŸ‘ť

It would be fine by me to celebrate Halloween every weekend! We had so much fun prepping for Halloween, maybe so much so that when the day finally arrived we didn’t want to see it end.

V & K attended cooking classes at Butter Beans / asphalt green location where they made yummy worm deserts and spooky recipes that could be repeated in any kitchen for a Halloween party. We also indulged in our own Halloween festivities at home with friends and family. All leading up to the spectacular adventures of Halloween!!!! NOW we’re all done!

Costumes live on and will be worn until they no longer fit, and that is guaranteed

How to include the kids in Fall Home Decor

In the spirit of Fall we begin our home dÊcor on October 1st to welcome the change of seasons and the two month long festivities.  This happens to be one of my favorite times of year, just for the home dÊcor opportunities.

This year we’ve taken our style from front yard to back, and within the house with small touches of pumpkins, orange colors and natural wood.  We’ve even incorporated the kids new favorite backyard sand and water bench by Simplay3.

The girls directed Bash to place gourds and mini pumpkins along the bench while closed…..which doubles up as a little sitting area just for him, when not floating boats or building sand blocks inside of it.   After all of this decorating fun, we just may find a way to incorporate the Simplay3 water bench into all of our family photos.

Mi Gente on Sesame Street

We decided to take advantage of this beautiful Fall Weather and spend the day on Sesame Street at Sesame Place, in Langhorne PA. http://www.sesameplace.com/

With this beautiful weather forecast of 80-85 degrees on the weekend we couldn’t resist but to take Bash to where we thought would be his favorite place.

Boy were we right! Bash and his TwinDollicious sisters enjoyed the spooktacular Halloween festivities at Sesame Place!

That hour and fifteen minute drive from NY was so worth all of the memories we will have to look back on. Bash immediately knew who his friends were, as he posed for pictures and gave hi-fives with smiles and dance moves throughout the day.

Isnt it so awesome to watch your children enjoy something so much at such a young age? I think that we always wonder what will they remember and is it worth it to expose them to things so young that they won’t retain. The truth of it all is the experience. These little spongy people will become better adults because of the great memories they will have to look back on and the exposure to The positive things in life.

Striving to make it count !

Halloween Harvest at Luna park with the little Mates

Fall is officially here, yet the crisp breeze, crunchy leaves and sweater weather hasnt kicked in just yet, but Halloween is fast approaching!

Its another year of new festivities for Fall at Luna Parks Halloween Harvest.  Luna park brings back so many childhood memories for me, so to be able to share this place and their new awesome festivities has me reliving childhood with the best people on earth.

It was so much fun to add extra pieces and designs to this lady bug costume that I am anticipating next year. Apparently I am not the only one anticipating next years Halloween costume in our home, because the girls have already requested to be good witches with brooms. Since now is the time to begin searching for left over Halloween goodies I have gone ahead and snagged a few good pieces; of course at great discounts. There is never a perfect time to shop when you’re getting a great deal.

Year 1 – cupcakes
Year 2 – cheerleaders
Year 3 – ladybugs

Halloween Pumpkin Carving and Decorating

Halloween eve has turned into pumpkin picking, pumpkin painting, smoke machines, filling candy bowls, carving utensils, and Halloween story books. It has always been an exciting time of year. Something about dressing up as your favorite characters and being someone different in a disguise is quite nice. It’s also very child like which is probably why I enjoy it so. This year the girls were so excited to paint their pumpkins, then work with their grandma on cutting and carving once the paint was dry. (painting can be found on our youtube video…as we’re practicing identifying colors… http://www.youtube.com/ search natashadanna). We also made a few decorations of our own. An hollow pumpkin made of a piece of a fake Xmas tree branch for the stem, pipe cleaners and ruffled plastic party lays in orange. To top it off the girls have chosen for me to be a GOOD witch. They will be dressed as lady bugs with tutus of course and wings. Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe Halloween from Twindollicious V & K. :):)

Happy Halloween or the memorial of sandy

As we are in the recovery stages of this horrible storm mother nature has blessed us with.. Here comes Halloween. Or is it the other way around, as we were preparing for Halloween here comes this storm. I happen to live in staten island, by where many people have lost their homes and lives. Our home was hardly effected besides a fence and electricity for a while, but we do have family staying with us because their home was practically under water. We are so happy and blessed to have been able to help them. I say that we are happy to help and some may not understand, but for me I will always help someone that is working so hard that help is needed. I have seen the looks on their faces of exhaustion after cleaning and salvaging whatever they can… I could imagine it being very hard.
However I did dress the girls for Halloween. we are blessed to all be alright and I figured we would visit their greatgrandma in the nursing home to put a smile on her face and boy did they. All of her friends gathered around to see the girls pom poms go. Back in our neighborhood we took a walk around but it didn’t feel the same. I had one neighbor come out their home with treats to say that we must go on because we have to keep the children happy.. Not to take the cheer out of Halloween.. But what about the people that will remember this day as a tragedy We shall see what next year brings. How do you feel about this tragedy and the effect it may have on Halloween for new Yorkers?

Pumpkin picking fun for children and adults

This weekend we celebrated grandma jojo’s 60th birthday by visiting baiting hollow farms in long island ny.
When the plans were first presented to me I couldn’t imagine a place that had wine tasting, farm animals, playground area and pumpkin picking all at once. To my surprise this place exceeded my expectations.

Vittoria and Kennedy were especially happy because they love music and of course there was a band. A band playing good oL country music with some line dancing. The only thing I regret is not recording these two party girls kicking and spinning, trying to learn the new dance. Once done with wine and eating we made our way over to the pumpkin patch, which included a corn maze ( that daddy decided to get lost in). With happy toasted adults and children in a playground area everyone was happy in the end. By 6 pm the adults packed themselves in their limousine and the girls comfortably snuggled in their car seats …we made the 1 1/2 hour ride home. It was all worth it. If anyone in the ny area is up for some fun for everyone take a ride over. I’m pretty sure the limousine is the best way to go for adults there were many there.
