Hello 2019 the transition is real

This is our first post for 2019 so Happy New Year to everyone!

This year I did not intend on making any resolutions but if you read our previous post you may know that I do believe in reflection to learn and manifest better for the years to come.

As fun changes are well underway in how we interact on our Site and Social we continue to strive in building this TwinDollicious & co community with products and brands that excite us all.

The new year has brought about a stage of limbo . I say this from a personal standpoint, yet I am sharing 1 takeaway from this moment for any mommas and their babies who may (or may not be for the baby) be ready to stop nursing and move on to the next stage of your bonding experience as a parent.

(Call him Warrior of the mustard seeds)

Trying Almond Milk in the nipple replicated designed bottle: Tommee Tippee

After a complete 7 days of walking around smelling like mustard seed; which I found in our cupboard and decided to put on . I can say that it has been a struggle. This idea of applying something to my little ones supply of comfort and nutrition began to cross my mind a few months ago, but I told myself it wasn’t time. Now as we all know it’s never a perfect time to do anything… well sometimes. However I tried the method of comparing my experience with the twins to mentally compare and prep myself on those terms. You see nursing twins for 2 + years seemed hard , but all children nurse differently. I remember the girls weening easily, then understanding that leche (milk) was going to be done so. However with Bash, the mention of “no more leche” seemed to make him want more. The increase of feedings became harder during the day. There were times when he was so tired and insisted on feeding while I was driving, just to fall asleep which may have led us to this very moment.

(Current Tired mama moment)

At this very moment I believe that I may have slept a total of 18 hours in 7 days. Though he’d rather not have mustard seeds in his mouth, he is having a problem with regulating himself. When tired during the day, he moans or becomes cranky if I am around. When he is with his sitter he is able to catch up on his sleep. Otherwise he is up at all hours of the night, with loads of energy until he knocks himself out because he cannot find the comfort again.

Why do we as humans seek comfort in things? It’s a question I’ve been asking myself as I try to find a way to help this transition become manageable. Does comfort make us complacent? Does it stop us from growing and move out of that stage of limbo?

It’s Q1 of a new year and with the spontaneous decision to be done with nursing I’m open to more spontaneity of crushing goals, & embracing things that I hadn’t plan to tackle yet. – I CHALLENGE you to try it too!

🔑: Though it may be hard try to always smile through those challenges.

As a mom I’m here mentally and physically to help with his transition as well as my own. He is my last little baby and the thought of this change makes it all real. The comfort he seeks I plan to embrace the best way I know….. right now it’s with lots of hugs and kisses

Travel to the island we love most

After many years of traveling to the East to visit that amazing little Island for opening season called Martha’s Vineyard .. it never gets old. Every time I return, I tell myself that the children will always love it here as much as I do and will continue to come when they have their own families one day.

There is always an inspirational moment and something new to discover when visiting.

I found the best work space to sit and get work done in the early mornings or during afternoon naps.

Every town from Edgartown, to Vineyard haven to oaks bluff, back to the cliffs are phenomenal day or night.

The weather was completely perfect this trip so we made time for the beach and pool.

However the topper was the visit to the airport and the farm. The sweet farm in Edgartown was very interactive. The children were able to experience life on the farm as little “barnyard buddies” .

Nancy’s was our dinning of choice on National Lobster day and almost every night we found ourselves at the Back Door donuts for a snack.

The snacking is A OK when you’re walking through town or riding your bikes…. we were happier with riding the flying horses and catching the rings. In which K was the lucky winner of the brass ring 3 Times!

Epic for anyone whose ever had a ride on the flying horses!

We even squeezed in movie time to watch the Incredibles at the original Strand Theatre.

On our very last day we made a stop at the little free library to drop off a book – our new story that I began writing on our last trip to the Vineyard Here

Summer camp here we come

What super hero do you want to be ?

Parents wear many capes every single day but can you imagine having the opportunity to actually tackle a task and roll through the fire like Black Widow the Marvel super hero?!

The Black widow happens to be V & K’s favorite Marvel Super hero; and they had the honor of learning her techniques at a live demonstration of the new Marvel live tour.

The Marvel live team is full of talented actors from all over. It was nice to interview Thor (who is a perfect fit by the way) and learn that he now lives in Brooklyn, NY after traveling from his home in Norway. We learned so much about this fascinating show, set and cast.

Kennedy experienced having her makeup done by an artist from the show…. he turned her into an alien.

The show will be in the tri state area NY, NJ CT and LI starting 2/22/18 through 4/1/18. We can’t wait to catch the full show and catch these 2 sisters in action !!

Get in the holiday spirit with us!

The holiday season would not be awesome without adding a bit of Twindollicious adventure.

We have rounded up some fun things that we have been doing throughout the season. The top five listed below have put us in the groove of Christmas and excitement for a new year (and Birthdays!!)

If you’re in need of a little spirit lifting and fun with the kiddos check out some of these fun at home and quick outings that will help you Deck the halls with jolly!

1. NYC is filled with fun pop up shops created by amazing marketing companies and brands. We enjoyed the hallmark pop up so much. Hallmark is the mother of all holiday movies and we were excited to swing in the spirit for these photo opps.

2. Because V & K enjoy cooking in the kitchen so much we had to include backing gingerbread cookies on our list. We enjoyed the awesome recipes of Red Velvet NYC to create some delicious gingerbread men. They were so delicious while baking in their kitchen that we did it again at home; and so can you!

3. Take a trip to a Christmas tree farm just to experience the smell of fresh pine, get lost in a maze of Christmas tree and look for signs of a possible Santa’s workshop. We enjoyed visiting the biggest Christmas tree farm in Philipsburg NJ. We love bringing home a fresh tree to decorate. As many others enjoy faux trees which is just as beautiful; there’s something about this experience that gets better every year.

4. If you’re all set up with Christmas decorations, holiday lights and you haven’t written your littlest letter to Santa yet, please do use Santa writes back. Your child would be delighted to receive that special letter from Santa in response to their wishes list.

5. To keep the spirit of Santa and the belief in this holiday alive we took a trip on the polar express to visit Santa himself.

6. We love taking time out to read holiday stories. There’s something about a holiday movie or story book that brings the holiday to life. We would love for everyone to always believe in Santa and the spirit of what it means to be good and do good; so our Christmas book “Santas helpers save Christmas” is available now Here

Mi Gente on Sesame Street

We decided to take advantage of this beautiful Fall Weather and spend the day on Sesame Street at Sesame Place, in Langhorne PA. http://www.sesameplace.com/

With this beautiful weather forecast of 80-85 degrees on the weekend we couldn’t resist but to take Bash to where we thought would be his favorite place.

Boy were we right! Bash and his TwinDollicious sisters enjoyed the spooktacular Halloween festivities at Sesame Place!

That hour and fifteen minute drive from NY was so worth all of the memories we will have to look back on. Bash immediately knew who his friends were, as he posed for pictures and gave hi-fives with smiles and dance moves throughout the day.

Isnt it so awesome to watch your children enjoy something so much at such a young age? I think that we always wonder what will they remember and is it worth it to expose them to things so young that they won’t retain. The truth of it all is the experience. These little spongy people will become better adults because of the great memories they will have to look back on and the exposure to The positive things in life.

Striving to make it count !

Summer of 2017 was a BASH

You know how the saying goes.. Time flies when you’re having fun.

This summer has gone by so fast and yes we are happy to be back at school. V and K are learning new things, getting to know new teachers, friends and routine.  Yet, we can’t help but reminisce about our summer of ’17 our favorite styles and moments shared before spending 6 hours a day apart.

Here are our top favoriteS:

-Our little Bash turned one years old and we celebrated Carnival style.

Face paint just feels better at a carnival

– our summer travels included short but sweet weekend getaways. We traveled to Lake George, Twinsburg Ohio, Florida and Chincoteague Beach Va. our most memorable place is always Twinsburg. V & K enjoy their friends from all across the world that come together just to share this fun filled, bonded weekend with twins and their families. We were so excited to share our new book release there as well.

Summer ’17 Included lots of blue in our everyday style in celebration of our favorite boy BASH!

Had a BASH at BBNYC

This year marks the first bbnyc Blogger bash NYC for Bash! It was quite different having a singleton on arm to mingle,  meet new brands and learn all about the fun new products happening at sweet suite 17 but at the same time he was the perfect little personality to have accompany me.

We visited Zulily’s photo shoot booth; which included bubbles and fun photographers. http://www.zulily.com/ I love how they were able to be apart of suite sweet for everyone.

Now….. throughout this huge area at the piers we scope out some of our favorite things that I’d like to share.

1. ✨Simplay3 the brand that started tikes; ride alongs , durable amazing products have now started the next stage of baby gear. We are in love with everything featured at BBNYC (especially the helmet ride along)  and know that there are more things to come. ✨ http://www.simplay3.com/

2. We had to visit V & K’s favorite snack pops booth http://www.yumearth.com/ we know that all sugar can be created equal but yum earths pops get a pass especially when they’re incorporating other nutritious snacks for your kiddies.

3. http://www.bixbee.com/ Was listed as one of the top choices to visit for bags and lunch boxes. I was so happy that we were able to visit them and learn more about their mission.  Backpacks that embrace the imagination and give back.

4. http://www.kangaroomfg.com/ Was loaded with fun reps in butterfly floaters and emoji madness! We loved them so much we had to share with an unboxing clip.

5. Saving the best for last because as a mom of 3 you never know when you’re going to have to make your own anything or mend something quickly.  This is where the 3doodler comes in. Three D Perfection!

We will be sharing more fun things that sweet suite had to offer! So much 2 share

3 New Brands to love from the NY Baby show

Did you ever think about preparing for your baby during pregnancy by attending a show? Or how about preparing for your babies next stage by listening in on a panel of specialists? Well, that’s what the New York Baby show is all about!

We were excited to attend the baby show this year, with baby Bash in tow.  A little different from last years mission, but there was another mission to be accomplished …. and will continue to be as we learn more at each amazing baby show.

This year we worked the floor in search of some of our favorite things for baby and parents. I had the privilege of being lead by my 10 month old and his love for food.  He has just began to eat different foods and as they’re introduced to his sweet little palette he has not met a food that he didn’t like so far.

Our favorite brands from the show included two baby food companies. One based in Brooklyn NY; first spoons   http://www.firtspoons.com/

-“First Spoons” are cooking up organic natural chicken nuggets made with vegetables at the softest texture.  I was able to allow Bash to handle the small pieces himself and let his 4 little teeth do all of the work.  The  other baby food company we loved is based on a sweet little farm.

-Bash tested “Once upon a farm” http://www.uponafarm.com/during a live video taping with Mary of Downtownchicmoms hosted by momtrends in the blogger lounge.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dXv8cSSJ34

Of course we also had V & K in mind, because as stated before… the show is for all stages of parent and childhood.

-The brand “Stuck on you” was a perfect fit for us! As you may know having g/g twins can be a challenge when they have the same likes and dislikes.  Our favorite item from the brand was the PERSONALIZED snack box. Not only is it beautifully designed with your name ….which is a must for most siblings, but it also teaches major food groups within the washable, removable tray.  http://www.stuckonyou.us
