Summer weekend travels

Slow down summer!  Though it has been 3 plus weeks since school ended, just the thought of packing away our summer styles and prepping for the cold scares the hee bee gee bees out of me.

We’ve been taking it as slow as we can between summer camp and our weekend getaways we are soaking up all of the sun we can to fulfill our vitamin D needs.

With 3 kids in tow we planned to visit some historical sites within driving distance. An 8-10 hour drive may sound like much but we’ve survived 16; now that’s serious. We chose Saratoga/Lake George as our first weekend getaway. We usually visit Martha’sVineyard  but decided to go with a group of our family members and learn about upstate NY. The kids couldn’t get enough of the horses at Bennington Farms, Martha’s Creme for ice cream, Congress park’s Carousel, of course the lake and did I mention the ice cream 🍦.

As if that adventure wasnt enough we were brave enough to do it again….and many more times to come of course. But, traveling down south to VA to visit family was both nostalgic and educational once again.

We stopped at chincoteague beach where the wild horses run and the famous story of misty originated.  The kiddies enjoyed one beautiful horse after another with an added touch of beach of course. We enjoyed our stay at a quaint Refuge Inn…. super kid friendly; just what we like!

Mommy not referee

When you become a mom you prepare yourself for the job of wearing multiples hats but referee is one that you probably don’t want to wear.

Sure we have our days but when you’re bonded with sibling love they will naturally find themselves in a better stance …. yet always side by side.

Success is achieved by doing what you love

Success will be achieved by doing what you love and not what you’re good at

I heard this statement a few weeks ago and immediately knew that it was meant for me. You see, I believe that everyday is a learning experience… We may take lessons away from just being in every moment.  Since hearing this from a successful business man himself (which happened to have been told to him by his MOM – those women I tell you) I felt the need to share it with someone else whom may be reading this right now.

Planning your career and life goals takes place in many phases. You may be the person who’s always known their career path or you may be the person that dabbles into everything without passion until one day it hits you. Perhaps you are that person who planned career based on your skills and what you do best. You may have been complimented on a job done well and choose that as your career path…., but realize one day that you are not in love.  You’re not in love with the money, the job or the rate of emotional return. So what do you do? I’ve had moments in the past where I reminisce on passions that have gone away – until that one day the accumulation of passions made sense into one career path, during the day I decided to take a break, SIT and BREATHE.   The leap into action was to develop a brand that I love based on a lifestyle that I love! While most importantly encouraging others and producing products that I’ve always loved – and thankfully ( “WOW” )others love as well :):)

If you’re faced with making the decision on hooding your business, family and career goals based on what you LOVE, remember LOVE always wins, success will follow.

Please share your thoughts on success and love with others. Speak about it or start by commenting below and remember to spread kindness, be an individual, embrace partnerships with friends, family and business because Any two can be….

List your success and start from there –

Rockstar sisters !!

Part 1 of a Child’s business plan

‘Twas the night before the first (full) day of school and mommy’s head was filled with worries while TwinDollicious sisters V & K calmly slept in their beds….. This has seriously been the most worrisome time in our little lives; at least for me it has. The girls have been prepped through play, conversation and separation with Music class for months; but when the big day comes we’re all nervous deep down inside.
Some how their morning begins a lot like I had visioned them to be…. Getting ready for school together, doing mirror checks with matching outfits and reminding each other of their teachers and new friends names (at 3 1/2).
With Their 5 day a week busy schedule and extracurricular events I’ve turned to reading a great book during my morning skypes and phone conferences. I’ll fill you all in on the great pointers as I highlight the goodies like EX: The first 4 years of a child’s life molds them to the greater years. The TwinDollicious lifestyle brand and stories would have never been a dream that I could fulfill without the birth of V & K. So as we grow, create new stories, designs, friendships priorities will always be for them to lead happy, sibling loving, successful lifestyles TOGETHER :):)

Startups Rule the Future for the next Generation

I usually cover our personal twins stories, facts and funnies and with our latest venture to pave the way for my twin girls I needed to share our appreciation for all of the hardworking startups. These startups have created new industries for our children to look forward to. Our collaboration with zulily http://www.zulily.com/brand/twindollicious.html has made me aware of how a single persons idea can open doors for many others. The next generation is going to be powerful!

Like peanut butter and jelly

It’s so fascinating to see sisters/twins so alike yet opposite like mirrors. Here I have two that share a few physical similarities a few personality similarities but their differences balance them out…..especially when it comes to fashion. They were both excited to try a hand at making this new black rose dress we’ve added to etsy, but when it came to trying it on I had a professional photographer and a model sister team. For a minute I had to stand back and watch because Kennedy posed great for her sister. It’s Amusing in a child’s world 🙂 🙂
